“Over 25 million Americans currently struggle with compulsive eating, and dieting is the major cause of this eating issue. Dieting also leads to weight gain, not weight loss. I assist my clients in ending the diet-binge cycle and becoming mindful, intuitive eaters....eaters who are able to choose what, when, and how much to eat based on their body's needs and desires. I also assist parents in helping their children become healthy, intuitive eaters.
When you are eating according to internal cues of hunger and fullness and engaging in pleasurable physical activity, your body will move toward your natural weight. And a new model of health, Health at Every Size (HAES), understands that healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes.
Since 1990 I have provided nutrition counseling for anorexia, bulimia and compulsive eating to adults, adolescents, as well as children and their families. Professional affiliations include the American and Maryland Dietetic Associations, Association for Size Diversity and Health, The Center for Mindful Eating, and The Eating Disorder Consortium of Baltimore.”
