Our genetic makeup is what makes us unique and is complex in nature. Originally learned as being but a factor that is completely out of our control, epigenetic research shows otherwise. What we now know through science is that factors from our environment such as diet, physical activity, sleep and stress, actually play a large role in the expression of our genes. While we can't entirely change what we are born with, healthy habits do in fact nurture healthy genes. In a nutshell, I'm here to challenge, support and guide you in rewiring your genes and taking direct control over your life.

I counsel patients making behavior modifications and lifestyle changes to help them meet their health and nutrition goals. My nutrition philosophy is to find wellness, balance and joy in all foods. Using evidence when possible, it is my goal to teach individuals how to eat to prevent disease and illness, enhance performance and quality of life. Using compassion always, it is my goal to work as a team with each individual to create the best nutrition plan that works for that individual.

I have a Masters degree in nutrition and am a licensed and credentialed registered dietitian. I’m experienced in addressing nutritional needs for diverse populations; specifically infants, children, prenatal and postnatal care, and lactating people. I also have experience with managing and preventing diabetes. On a personal note, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes years ago and know too well the impact that a big health diagnosis can have on your life. Through this experience, I’ve understood the importance of being in touch with your food and wellbeing, and always checking nutrition labels!

Kelly Minarick is a Registered dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. Kelly takes a weight-inclusive and person-centered approach to nutrition. She helps her clients become champions of their own bodies by encouraging mindful and attuned eating practices. She takes a non-diet approach to wellness and encourages balanced living and gentle nutrition. Kelly works with her clients to find a way of eating that works for them as an individual by taking their personal preferences, access to food, health history, lifestyles, and more into account.

Majority of my experience has been at the inpatient level of care, most recently serving as the Supervisor of Dietitians and Inpatient Eating Disorder Program at a behavioral health hospital. I have also worked in transitional living, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient nutrition counseling. As a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), I work throughout the spectrum of eating disorders with all aged individuals.
