I help people that are working on all kinds of "stuff" with food. This can be anything from feeling like you are constantly over-eating and uncomfortably full, to barely eating at all due to fear of gaining weight. You are not alone. We each spend hours upon hours thinking, talking, buying, and interacting with food. If food is a challenge for you, that's a lot of hours to be struggling a day. With me, never stress about food ever again, Together, let's build the foundation for you to feel comfortable and confident around food. It's time to be free of the burden of food!

Ashley believes that learning food neutrality and breaking free of a diet-mindset can help you reach your health goals in a sustainable, non-restrictive way. She focuses more on your overall dietary pattern as well as non-food aspects of health such as sleep, exercise, and self-care without bringing any judgment or criticism into the conversation. She understands that the nutrition messaging surrounding us can often be confusing or contradictory and uses a logical, evidence-based approach to answer your questions, while still accounting for the emotional and social aspects of food.

My nutrition philosophy includes but is not limited to that nutrition should be simple, easy to access, and inclusive. When you work with me, I invite you to openly discuss your nutrition struggles in a safe, compassionate and judgement free environment. I am a huge advocate for developing a good relationship with food that doesn’t involve categorizing food with moral judgements. Sometimes, weight loss is prescribed as a solution when in reality after much deeper digging, it is not. We may shift focus to health habits versus weight alone to encourage optimal health. I look at the whole person and take a down to earth, common sense a

Melissa believes in an individualized approach to nutrition care. Her philosophy is that attainability, sustainability, and consistency are key in making positive health changes. If a nutrition plan is lacking in any of these areas, it should be recalibrated to better meet the individual's needs, rather than expecting the individual to "make it work". She enjoys helping clients focus on the foods that they can eat rather than giving lists of foods to avoid.

I take an objective approach to food with a focus on mindful eating. From a place of curiosity and care, I hope to help you identify how food makes you feel - both how it fuels and satisfies you. I believe that food and eating impacts us mind, body and spirit. As a dietitian, I understand the nutrient density of foods plays a role in health promotion. That being said, I believe that eating food simply for the joy of it and limiting stress around eating can be just as important. My intention is to provide you with straightforward yet gentle nutrition information as well as applicable tools and skills to help you eat and live well

Hi there, I’m Carly (She/her). I’m so glad that you’re here! I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Licensed Dietitian practicing in Texas. I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition with a business minor from the University of Texas at Austin. I currently live in Austin, Tx with my husband, two children, and new puppy. In my free time you can find me enjoying beautiful weather (aka not the Texas summer) outside, going for long drives around Austin, and experimenting in the kitchen…and let’s be honest, probably at some school, social or extra-curricular related event for my kids.

How can an Austin Nutritionist help me?
Dietitians and Nutritionists in Austin provide advice on good eating habits. They help you with your diet and how it affects your health. They assess nutrition needs and food patterns, plan a diet that's appropriate for your physical and dietary needs, and provide nutrition counseling, such as advice on dietary changes and menu plans. They advise on special diets for medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, food allergies, and obesity.

The word dietitian has a variant spelling 'dietician' (e.g. find an Austin dietician). Both spellings are correct.

About Austin Registered Dietitians
Registered Dietitians or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in Austin complete a bachelor's degree at a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a period of supervised practice and an exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. While certification is not required in all states for nutritional counseling or nutrition therapy, only individuals certified by their respective states may use the Certified Dietitian or Certified Nutritionist titles.

How to use my insurance?
Some Nutritionists and Austin dietary professionals accept health insurance. Check to see if your insurance is covered. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the Nutritionist or Dietitian.
