You’ll hear me say this all the time because I truly believe it: all foods fit. There are no “good” and “bad” foods. The only time I’m going to tell you not to eat something is if you’re allergic to it or if it has mold on it. Other than that, all foods fit! Let’s work together so you can give yourself the freedom to enjoy all the ways food is part of everyday life. Whether it’s trying new recipes or pizza night with your favorite person, I’ll be here to guide you every step of the way!

Finding foods that help you meet your health goals can be challenging. Hormonal imbalance, nutrient deficiencies, or autoimmune conditions can muddy the waters. With 80% of the body’s immune system residing in the gut, working with a practitioner that understands how food effects the microbiome and hormones, is essential to creating a practical path to wellness. Do you suffer from chronic health conditions such as lupus, IBD, fibromyalgia, RA, MS, or others? Do you have signs of poor digestion such as IBS, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, or struggle with stubborn weight? The type of food you are consuming could be to blame.

Hi! My name is Logan Smith. I'm a registered dietitian specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating, GI disorders and overall wellness. I work specifically with clients who want to achieve food freedom, work on their relationship with food to improve their health, achieve wellness and ditch the diet mentality for good. With my nutrition counseling approach, I will help you ditch dieting for good AND help you improve your overall wellness. Constantly worrying about what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat isn’t how it’s meant to be.

This can be even more stressful if you have a health condition and are trying to understand how nutrition plays a role. My goal is to empower you with understanding and help get you to a place where food and nutrition is not a source of stress but is truly something positive to help support you and your health and wellbeing.

Wholistic, realistic, and sustainable. These three words are at the core of how I live, why I became a registered dietitian, and how I engage with my clients. I have a unique perspective as a registered dietitian: There are a limited number of male dietitians, I am a husband, a father, and significant life experience that allows me to truly understand client’s situations, and provide wholistic, realistic, and sustainable changes that can improve not only their physical health, but their mental and emotional health as well.

How can an Illinois Nutritionist help me?
Dietitians and Nutritionists in Illinois provide advice on good eating habits. They help you with your diet and how it affects your health. They assess nutrition needs and food patterns, plan a diet that's appropriate for your physical and dietary needs, and provide nutrition counseling, such as advice on dietary changes and menu plans. They advise on special diets for medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, food allergies, and obesity.

The word dietitian has a variant spelling 'dietician' (e.g. find an Illinois dietician). Both spellings are correct.

About Illinois Registered Dietitians
Registered Dietitians or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in Illinois complete a bachelor's degree at a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a period of supervised practice and an exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. While certification is not required in all states for nutritional counseling or nutrition therapy, only individuals certified by their respective states may use the Certified Dietitian or Certified Nutritionist titles.

How to use my insurance?
Some Nutritionists and Illinois dietary professionals accept health insurance. Check to see if your insurance is covered. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the Nutritionist or Dietitian.
