Dennis L Zerbo, Nutritionist/Dietitian in Petaluma
Nutritionist/Dietitian, MA, CNC
“Complementing formal training in Nutrition (Bauman College), Herbal Therapeutics (Calif. School of Herbal Studies), and Homeopathy (Boericke & tafel), I enjoyed more than 22 years in the natural foods industry, 6+ years in "integrative" pharmacies, and 17+ years at a health club (Parkpoint), the last 11 of which I was resident nutritionist. All these venues, including private practice, afforded me opportunities to consult, teach classes, specialize in supplements & herbal remedies, and enjoy numerous public speaking engagements throughout the county. I was a frequent guest speaker at Sonoma Valley Hospital, where I'm still involved there in the Integrative Health Network.

Jane Brickner, Nutritionist/Dietitian in Newbury Park
Nutritionist/Dietitian, BS
“Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full and make healthy choices. For a lot of women this is not so simple. Many women have triggers that make it difficult or impossible to resist eating. Facing certain foods while feeling stressed or under certain social situations can feel torturous and the only release is to eat. It is not an issue of willpower and it is not a character flaw. Over time our brains become wired to react to situations in a certain way. No amount of nutritional information or diet tips will help until this is repaired.

Kia Sanford, Nutritionist/Dietitian in San Anselmo
“What we eat, drink and even the air we breathe can have profound effects on our well being. By making food our medicine, Clinical Nutrition transforms the daily rituals of eating into health sustaining practices. In recognizing that medicine can be food, these practices bring the mystery of attaining and maintaining within our reach. (Due to many solicitations I must state I am not now nor will I ever be interested in being a part of a multi-level marketing company. Please DO NOT contact me about Mila, Isagenix, JuicePlus, or any other "opportunity". Thank you.)

How can a California (CA) Nutritionist help me?
Dietitians and Nutritionists in California (CA) provide advice on good eating habits. They help you with your diet and how it affects your health. They assess nutrition needs and food patterns, plan a diet that's appropriate for your physical and dietary needs, and provide nutrition counseling, such as advice on dietary changes and menu plans. They advise on special diets for medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, food allergies, and obesity.

The word dietitian has a variant spelling 'dietician' (e.g. find a California (CA) dietician). Both spellings are correct.
About California (CA) Registered Dietitians
Registered Dietitians or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in California (CA) complete a bachelor's degree at a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a period of supervised practice and an exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. While certification is not required in all states for nutritional counseling or nutrition therapy, only individuals certified by their respective states may use the Certified Dietitian or Certified Nutritionist titles.
How to use my insurance?
Some Nutritionists and California (CA) dietary professionals accept health insurance. Check to see if your insurance is covered. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the Nutritionist or Dietitian.
